The Adentan Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner Of Police Suzana Adjei, has paid a courtesy visit to the Pantang Abokoki Zongo Chiefs, led by His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Yussif Idrissu Madingo, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the police and traditional authorities in maintaining peace and security in the municipality.
During the visit, Assistant Commissioner Of Police Adjei reiterated her commitment to working closely with traditional leaders to enhance safety in Adentan and its surrounding communities. She emphasized that community security is most effective when there is a strong partnership between the police, traditional rulers, and residents.
Assistant Commissioner Of Police Adjei highlighted successful strategies she implemented during her tenure in Dansoman, which contributed to improved safety in that community. She encouraged the Pantang Abokoki Zongo Chiefs to actively participate in security-related matters and to help mobilize the youth for communal development. According to her, engaging Zongo youth through structured programs will promote discipline and foster peace and order.
She further urged the chiefs to help spread the message that the police are partners in community development, noting that residents should not panic when interacting with the police but rather see them as allies in resolving issues.
Assistant Commissioner Of Police Adjei expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and the chiefs’ willingness to collaborate with the Adentan Divisional Command. She assured them of fairness, transparency, and justice in police operations and called for continued cooperation.
In his response, Alhaji Dr. Yussif Idrissu Madingo thanked the Divisional Commander for the visit, acknowledging it as a recognition of the vital role traditional leadership plays in community governance. He raised concerns about certain domestic complaints brought to the police by Muslim couples, suggesting that issues related to Islamic marriage practices be referred to Zongo Chiefs for preliminary handling before escalation to the police.
Alhaji Madingo also noted some concerns regarding the West Africa Senior High School in Adentan, which he indicated he would discuss privately with the Divisional Commander for prompt attention.
He pledged, on behalf of his cabinet, to work hand in hand with the Adentan Divisional Police Command to ensure safety and security in the community. The meeting ended with Islamic prayers offered for the police leadership.
The engagement concluded with a shared commitment to safeguarding peace and promoting harmonious coexistence in Adentan and its environs.
