Chamba Chief Warrior, Ibrahim Tidjani, popularly known as Chief Don, has urged Chamba people to uphold their cultural heritage in their daily lives. Speaking on Hikma FM's Chamba Lemi Show, Chief Don emphasized the importance of preserving Chamba culture.
According to Chief Don, he has faced criticism for dedicating time to promoting Chamba culture, but he remains undeterred. "I love cultural displays, and nothing can take that away from me," he stated. He believes every individual is born for a purpose, and his might be to protect and promote Chamba culture.
Chief Don highlighted the significance of the Addose "knife cutting display," a cultural practice he describes as risky yet masculine. However, he expressed concern about the lack of youth involvement and the absence of traditional drummers within the Chamba community.
To address this, Chief Don has taken the initiative to acquire drums and train interested youth. He concluded by calling on Chamba people to forgive each other and work towards unity.
