The Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Ghana Enterprises Agencies is offering to train 50,000 young people between the ages of 18 and 40 years and provide funds to start their own business.
Three levels of entrepreneurship training will be offered: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. The training will be based on standardized, quality-assured packages in different locations nationwide. All training will be delivered using an experimental participatory approach conducive for adult learning and will also be district based and non- residential.
GEA will implement Entrepreneurship Training and Grant Support under Component 2.1 of the World Bank Funded and the objective is to support skills development and job creation in Ghana.
All advanced training participants will receive mentoring and coaching support, which encompasses guidance to prepare business plans, meet business registration and licensing requirements, and connect with input and output markets. Short duration internship, mentoring and guidance sessions would be arranged for some selected beneficiaries.
The Project Implementing Agencies are National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), NESTI, Monitory Evaluation and Learning (ME&L), Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET).
The eligibility criteria are:
(1) Unemployed Youth between the 18 and 40 years with minimum qualification of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
(2) Willingness to start a business
(3) School dropouts who are already in Business.
(4) 50% of the beneficiaries should be women and People With Disabilities.
Basic Level training portals will be opened on 17th October, 2022.
The participants included Youth Group, Traders and People Living with Disabilities.
