Benedict Musa Haziel, a 22-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested by the police in Adamawa state for allegedly stabbing another man by the name of Luka to death during a fight over his woman.
According to reports, the suspect has paid N15,000 to the family of his girlfriend, Blessing to show his seriousness to marry her but the deceased, Luka was also trying to use all means to get Blessing for himself and this infuriated the suspect.
Benedict was said to have sounded warnings to Luka on several occasions to desist from going out with his fiancee but he refused to heed to his warnings. He was said to have one day tracked his fiancee to the residence of Luka and an argument ensued between them.
In the midst of the argument, Benedict was said to have grabbed a knife and stabbed Luka in the buttocks and he died from the profuse bleeding. He also said that it was not his intention to kill Luka but he attacked him when he attempted taking Blessing back to her parents’ house.
”I warned him to steer clear of her because we are planning to get married. So, on that fateful night, I trailed her to the residence of Luka, with an intention of taking her to her parents. He engaged me in a fight on my arrival at their residence. I mistakenly used a knife in my possession and stabbed him in the buttocks. It was not my intention to kill him” he said.
Benedict was said to be preparing to attend a pastoral school but unfortunately, he landed himself in police custody.
