Badejo Ranti, a Nigerian businessman has reportedly been apprehended by the operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly causing the death of his wife, Afolashade Taibat Adewusi.
The incident was said to have happened on Tuesday 11th October 2022 at at their residence in Mowe, Ogun State after an argument ensued between the couple. A source said that the couple have been married for seven years but the argument was about school fees for the kids.
“They’ve been married for 7 years and on Tuesday an argument ensued over school fees for their kids. Badejo had stormed out of the house in anger and returned later that night to meet his sleeping wife”, he source said.
Badejo was said to have returned back home, plugged an iron and used it on his wife in her sleep. He was said to have tortured her with the heated iron until she died. Some of the neighbors rushed to the scene after the deceased screamed for help only to find her dead.
The suspect upon interrogation claimed that his wife died out of electrocution and not by his hand. A video that surfaced online captures the deceased lying on the ground with burns all over her body as neighbors who rushed to the scene express their anger towards the suspect.
He was then handed over to the Ogun State Police Command for further investigations before the agitated neighbors take the law into their own hands.
