Mohamed Salah set the Champions League ablaze on Wednesday night, October 12, with a spectacular performance against Rangers. The Egypt international came off the bench in the second half of the match staged at Ibrox Stadium to net a stunning hat trick as Liverpool mauled the Scottish giants 7-1.

Salah was forced to start the match as a substitute after Jurgen Klopp opted to line up with Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino in the attack.
The ex-Roma forward was only introduced with 22 minutes left on the clock, coming on in place of Nunez. However, he made the most of those minutes by scoring the fastest hat trick in the history of the Champions League. The 30-year-old needed to score all his goals within just six minutes and 12 seconds, a new record in the European elite football competition. His record shattered the one previously set by Bafétimbi Gomis of eight minutes in 2011.
